new animal book & pictures

See www.rightwards.com for a new book that features animals and history. A very interesting concept that shows how animals have been so important to us.

Another great book that shows how we don't pay enough attention to the nonhuman world is David Abram's book, Spell of the Sensuous.

"He told me that once he forgot himself & his heart opened up like a door with a loose latch & everything fell out &
he tried for days to put it all back in the proper order, but finally he gave up & left it there in a pile & loved everything equally."

Get a massage ASAP

I once knew a body therapist who had a massage every week. She understood better than most of us how much are cells are restored through massage. Yesterday I felt like my "tank" was empty. I could hardly talk about all the stressful things that had happened. Then I submitted to Suzanne Beetsch's healing approach. First, she has me sniff different fragrances to see what ones I resonate with. Then she adds them to an oil that is made of almond, jojoba, coconut, and a whole lot more. She says this mixture is absorbed in the skin better than most.  Read More

Success group

I formed a "success" group of six women this Fall. So far we have set our goals, outlined the problems and re-perceived them as new goals to get past. We have brainstormed around each person's goals and problems, really coming up with out-of-the-box ideas. We also hold each other accountable through our daily journalsand monthly updates. All this is based on Barbara Sher's ideas. I highly recommend her books.  Read More

Writing tips by Sue Monk Kidd

For writers Sue Monk Kidd has some excellent tips. See www.suemonkkidd.com/reflections.
For anyone who's wanted to write memoir or fiction, she's a great mentor.
I just finished reading Traveling with Pomegranates, a book she wrote with her daughter about travels they took together. They went to my favorite sacred places--in Greece and France.  Read More
